Children born using in-vitro fertilisation have double the risk of dying in the first 28 days after birth than those conceived naturally. They are also more likely to be premature and above all, have three times the likelihood of having low birth weight (PLOS ONE; 2014; 9, nº1, e80398, January 2014).
