Enhancement is defined as the improvement of bodily functions, appearance or behaviour using genetic or biomedical techniques. The point to which “enhancement” can be implemented raises a major bioethical debate.  Now, the field of “enhancement” has been extended to the genital area, with the assessment of the ethical licitness of vaginal designer surgery for aesthetic reasons, following an open investigation into three British doctors for using surgical techniques aimed at modifying the genital labia and vagina (See HERE).
