IVF children risks in the rise
The possible negative effects of assisted reproduction techniques (see HERE), for mother and child, must be informed by Clinics to their eventual clients. According to an article, supported by the Swiss National Science Foundation, the Placide Nicod Foundation, the Swiss Society of Hypertension, the Swiss Society of Cardiology, and the Mach-Gaensslen Stiftung Schweiz, published recently in the “Journal of the American College of Cardiology”, children born through in vitro fertilization have a higher risk of suffering high blood pressure in adolescence, as a result of premature aging of their vascular system. IVF risks for children incidence, 1 in every 52 children born through IVF suffered hypertension, compared to 1 in every 43 in the group of children conceived naturally. The study concluded that ART-induced premature vascular aging persists in apparently healthy adolescents and young adults without any other detectable classical cardiovascular risk factors and progresses to arterial hypertension.
