About Us
The Bioethics Observatory was established on 20 September 2006 within the Catholic University of Valencia (UCV)
Its founder and first director was Justo Aznar, Doctor of Medicine and expert in bioethics, who dedicated his life to defending human life from its very beginning until natural death.
The current director is Julio Tudela PhD, pharmacist, expert in bioethics and professor at the Catholic University of Valencia “San Vicente Mártir”.
The Bioethics Observatory has two websites, one in Spanish and the other in English. Both publish daily articles related to human life, new biotechnological aspects that may affect it, biomedical issues in general and research carried out that has ethical implications. These articles reflect the latest bioethical news, with topics studied and discussed with great scientific rigor by professionals from different areas of thought.
Articles are published against a background that defends human life from conception to natural death and the dignity of the person, with the aim of joining efforts to spread the culture of life as defined by Evangelium Vitae.
It has two free press services and subscribers worldwide: Bioethics Press in Spanish and Bioethics News in English.
It has also offered a Master’s Degree in Bioethics since 2007.
