A third patient from Sao Paulo – Brazil who seems to have cleared an HIV infection. The HIV virus appears to have disappeared from his blood after he received a combined treatment of antiretroviral drugs and nicotinamide (vitamin B3), without having had a stem cell transplant. We have reported the previous cases (read HERE and HERE). The results have been published in Science and were presented at the 23rd International AIDS Conference, which was held virtually due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This patient may be the third in the world in whom this has occurred. The cases of two other patients, Timothy Ray Brown, the “Berlin patient” and Adam Castillejo “The London patient”, have also been published in the Science journal (read HERE).
